1. How do you make a living?

After six years at a wonderful organisation (Sony Music) in a role I loved (People and Organisational Development), I wanted a bit of a time out to see where my career could take me next.

I decided on a six week trip to re-connect with my family back in the states, which I thought would help shape my thoughts. Therefore I resigned and was due to fly out on March 21. However, COVID struck the week before and I decided not to fly.

2. Has your career been impacted by Covid-19 and if so, how?

The market in which I'm looking for a new job is drastically different to the market in which I decided to resign without a job.

3. How has that impact made you feel?

Like there is an opportunity to do something I wouldn't have ordinarily planned, but so unsure of what that could be. Equally it feels like a very limiting context to have to be the best version of yourself.

4. How are you safeguarding your career during this time?

I've always loved writing but used time as an excuse. Therefore, I'm putting in a 500 word count minimum on my days to see what my written voice could be.

5. Will you change anything about your way of living when things go back to normal? If yes, how?

I'm enduring COVID-19 "alone" in the sense that I don't have family or a partner with me in the flat. I think I'm going to get a lot more serious about doing what it takes to start a family now that I see how absent that is in my life now.

Hate to write that knowing that future employers may come across this, but it's my unfiltered view.

6. How are you maintaining your wellbeing during this time?

Friends and writing.

7. If you were to recommend one thing to do in lockdown - what would it be & why?

Check in with friends at unscheduled times, just to see how they are in the midst of a day. They may not be able to take the call or it may only last one minute but the impact of the "I'm thinking of you" call does wonders for both parties!

8. If a helping hand could be given to you now, what would it look like?

To be able to go on my planned trip around the USA to visit friends and family!

9. If you were to spend lockdown with a famous person, who would it be and why?

Amal Clooney

10. What excites you most about post-lockdown life?

Buying a house. Being in a rented flat for the duration of this makes me so excited to look for and secure a place that is more of a "home."
