1. How do you make a living?

I am the co-founder of content production agency, DoJo Films Ltd. We create video content for clients in the technology, sports, food and travel sectors.

2. Has your career been impacted by Covid-19 and if so, how?

My business is in its first year was growing month on month, we were heading toward an excellent start.

Covid-19 has literally been the equivalent to hitting a brick wall at speed. We have lost large contracts, we've had postponements, we've had cancellations and new business has all but dried up.

Filming requires human interaction/contact and our core markets of sport, food and travel have effectively closed down.

3. How has that impact made you feel?

It has been a pretty weird experience to be honest. Fortunately I have a business partner to discuss our options with rather than feeling as though I am facing this alone. This brings a lot of comfort and actually has allowed me/us to really look at the whole situation and focus on the positives.

We're confident our business will pick up as soon as we're though the worst of this but some of our clients may not been in business. It really has been a shock.

2020 was the year where I had personally put in place various goals to achieve and those are all going to be affected after what was a strong start!

4. How are you safeguarding your career during this time?

I am doing a lot of admin, catching up on areas that have been left for years! I have been learning a fair bit via webinars and picking up old skills on various pieces of software.

Exercising daily has been a real bonus, it has helped physically and mentally. And actually having the down time to really become comfortable with the situation and plan for the future has been really helpful.

5. Will you change anything about your way of living when things go back to normal? If yes, how?

Possibly, but I think it is far too early to say. In regard to changing how we live with the possibility of a future virus, I would say not so much. I try not to live in fear. But certainly having now had time off, I have realised how important the benefits of daily exercise are to mind and body so I'll certainly be bringing that with me!

6. How are you maintaining your wellbeing during this time?

Daily exercise. Regular video calls with friends and family.

Trying to create at least 1 or 2 'tasks' to complete each day, even if small.

It is easy to allow the days to pass and feel a sense of 'underachievement', completing small tasks goes a long way to helping me keep positive!

7. If you were to recommend one thing to do in lockdown - what would it be & why?

Take the time to really analyse what you are doing with your life, where you are at and where you want to be, but keeping happiness at the core of this.

The single most important consideration should be, 'What do I want to do’?

8. If a helping hand could be given to you now, what would it look like?

Being a Director of newly formed Ltd company, I have fallen into the bracket of people who receive no help during lockdown, financially speaking. Having a help in this would be helpful!

But bigger picture, I think if we had the opportunity now to speak to experienced mentors in our marketplace who could help share how we can grow when this dies down would be ace. It is something we're exploring.

9. If you were to spend lockdown with a famous person, who would it be and why?

I am currently with my girlfriend and family so I should say one of them?! I actually think if I were with one single person it might have to be an old friend, someone who you knew would handle you! And give you the space you need, being so close to family and others can create issues when you're so close but we're getting on fine at the minute!

For a famous person - it would have to be David Attenborough, as I’ve always had a love of wildlife.

10. What excites you most about post-lockdown life?

I genuinely believe there will be huge opportunities. We will have reset and we will all need to get back to some sort of normality quickly.

People will need to get things done so I feel like we can all start achieving some great things and with everyone fully rested (barring our frontline staff who are doing a grand job now), hopefully as a country we can group together and do some amazing things.
