2. Has your career been impacted by Covid-19 and if so, how?
All of my in person training and workshops have been cancelled. Speaking gigs postponed. Networking events where I meet my clients - cancelled.
3. How has that impact made you feel?
Sad about the impact on my business! I have worked so hard to get to this place - but also I know that it will pick up after lockdown. I have potential clients reaching out to say they want to work with me, they just don't have the funds right now.
4. How are you safeguarding your career during this time?
Creating content - starting to update my YouTube channel, creating blog posts, reaching out to my network and keeping in touch. Also doing some free webinars/challenges to build my audience while we are in lockdown.
5. Will you change anything about your way of living when things go back to normal? If yes, how?
I am wondering if I will pick up some of my regular bills - paying for co-working space, paying for some softwares, memberships of some things. So hoping I will reduce my outgoings maybe.
In terms of non work - I will see my friends!! Taking time to make sure I pop in and see my mum - at the moment I call in on her every single day while walking the dog.
Also I have started my early morning runs again. Yay!
6. How are you maintaining your wellbeing during this time?
I started my morning runs.. walking with the kids every day. We are definitely sleeping more which I know is not the case for lots of people. Staying connected to friends via text and Zoom to keep the mental health in tact. And taking my run on my own so I have some time away from the (lovely) family!
7. If you were to recommend one thing to do in lockdown - what would it be & why?
Take time to talk to your family - the ones living with you and the ones living away from you. And read more books.
8. If a helping hand could be given to you now, what would it look like?
Chamber of Commerce or local council networks referring business to me. I have all the skills people need to get online and I feel that the solo business owner is totally forgotten in all of this.
I don't want a loan, I want to WORK!
9. If you were to spend lockdown with a famous person, who would it be and why?
Gosh. I would normally say Bruce Springsteen but not for 12 weeks.
I think Michelle Obama would be great company. Or Laura from Little House on the Prairie -s he'd know how to do everything!!
10. What excites you most about post-lockdown life?
Seeing all my friends and family!!! and getting out for dinner. And going to the beach and the woods.... freedom!
